TAX TITHES AND JUSTICE
LUKE 11:42
You may have read of or encountered people who claim they can ignore Render to Caesars what is ... or who have a church doctrine of compulsory tithing or who ignore against tithing
So apart from the Render to Caesar verse what else has Jesus to say.
Bear in mind its thought he was commenting on Lev. 27:30 about tithing harvests.
" and woe to you the Pharisees that tithe the sweet odour (mint) and the rue and all edible greens (lakhanon is not just herbs) and neglect the justice and the love of god.
these things and you should have to do and these (other) ( love justice) not neglect !
What use is a tithe if you do not also have justice and love.
The Levites and other religious were suppose to receive a tithe to support themselves as they could focus on supporting and helping others not spend their time inviting even more taxes and saying more things should be taxed.
Note the verb used edei you ought to you should have not must have and the contrast more obvious in Greek between these things tauta and then these other things ekeina.
Whether its a tax or tithe secular or religious it should be spent wisely and those who condemn SJW warriors should perhaps consider Jesus telling us not to neglect love and justice and remember he said love was best expressed as doing things ofr others that help?
